What is a Home Care Package?

A Home Care Package is a government program that provides support to older people with complex needs to help them continue living in their own home for as long as possible. These services are tailored to respect individual wishes, changing care profiles and flexibility of choice.

The services we provide are based around individual client choices. Our goal is to assist our clients in maintaining their lifestyle and helping them stay connected and engaged with all aspects of their lives.

Our Care Managers first discuss their client needs. Together, we will design a package of care and services befitting each person’s individual requirements. These services are always fully flexible for tailoring.

What sets Bethel Home Care apart

Person Centred Care

Our packages are designed for each voice to be heard. Our complete focus is on our clients, addressing individual needs and preferences. We want to maintain the lifestyle our clients wish to live, keeping them engaged with their interests and family life.

We work closely with our clients and their families, GPs and any other health professionals to provide the best possible, individually tailored care package.

Community Connections

All Bethel Home Care clients can join in group-based exercises and entertainment at Ashfield Baptist Homes. They can also go on weekly bus outings in and around Sydney. We can provide transportation for all activities.

We speak several languages, and cater for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (55 and over), respecting cultural diversity and gender equality.

We place critical importance on the care staff we employ. Each member of our qualified care staff team demonstrates genuine compassion and enthusiasm in caring for our elderly clients. We are justifiably confident our staff deliver the highest quality of care.

Getting Started

Call us on (02) 9797 3600 and speak with our Home Care Manager, who can answer any questions and provide guidance through the My Aged Care System. Alternatively, contact MyAgedCare on 1800 200 422 or apply online and ask to be referred to Bethel Home Care.

ACAT Assessment Process

The first stage is to establish whether the client is eligible for subsidised aged care. This involves a two-part assessment process that understands the client needs and what services could help them. It starts with a simple eligibility check which can be completed online or over the phone followed by an in-person assessment.

An ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) will assess the client for a Home Care Package. They can also provide assessments for short term and residential care options.

The client will then be referred for an assessment to better understand their care needs and types of care they may be eligible for.
